Small Animal Surgery Services

The Small Animal Surgery Service performs general, neurologic and orthopedic surgery procedures
for clients referred by private practitioners.
Our services include:
- Total hip replacements
- Various surgical procedures for treatment of cranial cruciate ruptures
- Correction of portosystemic shunts
- Surgical treatments for cancer
- Fracture fixation
- Corrective surgery for orthopedic developmental disorders
These procedures are performed in a 4-suite, sterile surgical wing (OR’s) using specialized equipment such as:
- Laparoscopes
- Arthroscopes
- YAG and carbon dioxide lasers
- A full complement of general abdominal, thoracic, cardiovascular, microvascular, and orthopedic implants and equipment
Anesthesia monitoring and pain management are provided by an anesthesia team of faculty clinicians, residents, and students.
