Dr. Fawzy Elnady is an associate professor, specializing in anatomy and embryology, at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM), at Virginia Tech. He earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BS) in 1989, equivalent to a DVM degree, and completed his Master of Veterinary Anatomy (MS) in 1993 at Cairo University, Egypt. He pursued his Ph.D. at VMCVM as a visiting scholar from 1996 to 1999. In 2002, Dr. Elnady was recognized with the prestigious Cairo University incentive prize for his exceptional contributions to Veterinary Biomedical Sciences. He was the chairman of the anatomy and embryology department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, in 2013. Widely acclaimed as a veterinary anatomist, Dr. Elnady gained renown as the innovator behind the globally utilized “Elnady Technique”; a modified Plastination method employed for tissue preservation. He has also developed various veterinary anatomy software, including specialized programs focusing on goat abdomen and pelvis imaging anatomy, the comprehensive electronic Atlas of equine anatomy (part I and II), and guidelines for veterinary orthopedics. Furthermore, Dr. Elnady has authored a notable series of multilayered charts on veterinary anatomy. During his profession at VA Tech, he successfully published three intellectual property products. As a certified trainer for multimedia and e-learning, Dr. Elnady further enhances his teaching expertise. He has been the recipient of several esteemed teaching awards, notably including the recent outstanding instructor award from VA Tech University, as well as another notable recognition from VMCVM in 2023.
