Opportunities in Veterinary Medicine


Opportunities in Veterinary Medicine seeks to help potential employers meet and engage with prospective candidates at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. This event will be open to veterinary students in all four years of the curriculum. Students in the Class of 2020 will be invited to submit resumes prior to the event. Employers will have the opportunity to socialize, network, and interview potential candidates while at the college.

All events will be held in the college's commons and waterfall room.

8:30-9:00am - Light breakfast for potential employers

9:00am-12:00pm - Educational program

    On-site interviews from 8:00am to 5:00pm.


    Participating veterinarians will have the opportunity to attend an educational program.

    Networking: During this time, practices will have a 6’ table top space available to display materials about the practice, local community, positions for which they are recruiting, etc. Displays may not generate sound through electronic media (i.e. narrated video). Power will not be available to all tables. A light meal will be provided.

    Participation Costs

    Cost to practice: (positions include internships and associate positions; clerkships will not count toward number of positions)

  • Advertising for 1 position: $85*
  • Advertising for 2-5 positions: $165*
  • Advertising for more than 5 positions: $275*
  • *Practices owned by VMCVM alumni are invited to participate at no charge.
