“To Intern or Not to Intern”

Dr. Leib, professor at VMRCVM, explained the general reasons for doing an internship post-graduation, including the application process, selection criteria and the matching process. Dr. Escobar, from Springfield Vet Center and past VVMA president, discussed what must be considered when deciding to do an internship, including the impact on family, marital strain and financial implications. Dr. Steve Karras, from Cave Spring Veterinary Clinic and Vice President of the VVMA, talked about his experiences doing an internship and how it has factored into the rest of his career.
