BMVS-GSA Mission Statement and History

History

We are a fairly new organization within the Veterinary College. The BMVS-GSA was started in September 2005 by a group of inspired graduate students under the leadership of Shivakumara Siddaramappa and with extreme support from Dr. Roger Avery, the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies at the VMRCVM. With the recruitment of fellow graduate students, an executive board was created to oversee the Association. In its first year, the BMVS-GSA has met on a monthly or bi-monthly basis to discuss concerns of graduate students and foster a sense of community amongst students and faculty. With its recent change of officers, we are hoping that the Association will advance even more.
