Alpha Psi Alumni Association
Why is Alpha Psi starting an Alumni Association?
To keep former members involved in the future of the organization, to establish a link beween the past and the present, to provide opportunities for the current members to socialize with alumni. If you were a member of Alpha Psi during your stay at the the glorious institution of VMRCVM and have lost contact with your fellow Alpha Psi alums, let us bring you back together. If you want to make a difference in the future of the veterinary profession, what better a way than through interactions with the current students. If you want to give back to the fraternity, to help solidify the foundation of Alpha Psi as a lasting organization within the VMRCVM, then join us!

Letter from the President
2007 is a big year for Alpha Psi. It marks the 25th year of involvement with the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and the 100th anniversary of the Alpha Psi fraternity. My biggest initiative over the next year is to bring the alumni from the previous 25 years back into the fraternity. In order to have a strong future, we need to remain connected with the past. The 1907 constitution established a set of objectives for the fraternity: to promote a stronger bond between the veterinary colleges of the United States and Canada; to create a better feeling among the students of all veterinary colleges, and to infuse a deeper interest in the study of veterinary science. I want to see these objectives strengthened in the Pi chapter. Alpha Psi is an organization that eliminates boundaries; we are not separated by the year we graduate, there are no divisions. The same is true for the current and past members of the fraternity. The best way to create a better feeling among the students and infuse a deeper interest in the study of veterinary medicine is to provide them with invaluable friends and contacts within the profession. Outside of professional symposia and conferences, the current classes have few opportunities to find out what the vets of today have to say. I want to be able to provide a link between the past and the present, to strengthen the objectives of 1907 and to help create a better, brighter future for the Pi chapter of Alpha Psi.
Sincerely,
Matt Gessner
