April

April 5: VMRCVM Open House
April 15: Deadline for Deposit
After you’ve paid your deposit, DVM Admissions will contact you via e-mail with your student number.
BEFORE April 21: Establish your Personal Identification (PID). This PID will also serve as your Virginia Tech email address. After you’ve set up your PID, you can do things such as register for classes, view and make tuition payments, track financial aid, change your own address, etc.
 
NOTE: You cannot set up your PID until you have paid your deposit and received confirmation and student number from the DVM Admissions Office.
 
IMPORTANT: Once your VT email account has been established, it is important that you check this email regularly.
April 21 - May 9: Registration for Fall Semester classes (PDF)
Note: You must set up your PID before you can register for classes.

May

May 1: Deadline for submitting required information to the Office of Academic Affairs.
  1. Complete and submit on-line form for address, emergency contacts, nametag order, lab coat size, and areas of interest.
     
  2. Carefully read the Rabies Immunization information. (PDF)
     
  3. Complete the online Rabies Immunization Form.
May 11: Deadline for registering for fall semester classes.
(Registration window reopens August 6.)
Note: Download the required Health History Form and start getting it filled out. You must mail the form directly to the Schiffert Health Center, deadline: July.

June

June 1: Scholarships & Awards
These funds are limited and competition is keen. Most are based on academic merit and financial need. It is required that you have a current FAFSA form on file with the University in order to be eligible for these scholarships.
 
Deadline for completing DVM Student Bio Information Form for scholarship consideration is June 1. Please note: all incoming students are required to complete this form.
Mandatory Health Insurance Requirements
June 30: Deadline for official updated transcripts to be received in the DVM Admissions Office. In accordance with admissions requirements, your acceptance is conditional upon satisfactory completion of all required course work by the end of Spring term 2007.

July

Submit Health History Form to Schiffert Health Center.
mid- July: You will receive your Fall tuition bill at your VT email address.
View your e-bill for tuition on Hokie SPA. You will need your VT PID and password to access Hokie SPA.
 
end of July
deadlines:
Hokie Passport (ID card) - You can obtain your Hokie Passport after mid-June if you registered for classes. You will need your Hokie Passport to pick up your parking permit.
 
Parking and Transportation - You may purchase your parking permit online starting mid-July.

August

August 4: Drop/add on Hokie SPA begins.
August 10: Meet deadline for fall tuition payment.
August 17: Check on financial aid distribution for fall semester.
August 18 - 22: DVM New Student Orientation!
August 25: Classes Begin!
August 29: Deadline to add an elective course.

October

  October 3: Deadline to drop an elective course.
