VMRCVM
Chartered in 2002, CeCO is an academic
center for basic and clinical research on cancer.
The center is based at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM)
in Blacksburg, Va. and unites a variety of cancer research programs on the Virginia Tech
campus.
People helping animals, animals helping people, the CeCO motto is a succinct expression of our mission.
We will learn about cancer in all species and use knowledge gained through basic and clinical research to help conquer cancer. We think our unique focus on cancer in domesticated animals will yield important information that can be applied to all species.
All of the efforts of CeCO research scientists are devoted to finding novel methods for detecting cancer and developing and testing new therapies designed to control and cure it.
