Fifth Annual Dog Walk Against Cancer

Saturday, October 11, 2008, 10 am - 2 pm

Dog WalkEach year, members of the community come together to raise funds for supporting the research programs at CeCO. Money that is raised goes directly to pay for Student Cancer Research Fellowships. Last year those funds supported 7 students. Working with faculty mentors, these students studied malignant lymphoma and brain tumors in dogs, melanoma in horses, and helped develop advanced methods for diagnosing cancer in all species.

This year, the Annual Dog Walk Against Cancer will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 (rain or shine!) on the lawn in front of the College. The event will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a kick-off talk about cancer in animals at 10:00 am and a special Cancer Survivor and Remembrance Walk around the flowers in The Grove at 1 pm - to honor and remember the struggles of all two- and four-legged cancer survivors.

Everyone is welcome to participate.Dog Walk

We ask that:

  • People and pet friendly dogs participate!
  • All dogs should be up-to-date on current vaccinations
  • All dogs are kept leashed at all times and under control by their walkers
  • You understand how important you and your dog are in our fight against cancer
