The aquatic animal facilities are equipped with fiberglass tanks and glass aquaria of varying sizes, capable of maintaining a wide variety of freshwater and marine aquatic species. All systems are provided with mechanical and biological filatration, and supplemented with aeration, temperature, and light controls. These facilities are located at the Center for Molecular Medicine and Infectious Diseases on Price's Fork Road. Additional aquaculture systems are located at the Aquaculture Center and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at Virginia Tech.
