I am interested in molecular mechanism of RNA viral replication and pathogenesis, epidemiology of emerging or reemerging viral disease and development of vaccines against viral diseases. I had worked on the pathogenicity, immune protection mechanism and molecular epidemiology of Newcastle disease viruses in China. Then I came to the USA, and studied Rotavirus epidemiology, vaccine development and gene rearrangements in National institutes of Health. Currently, I am working with Hepatitis E virus replication and pathogenesis.
