Brief Bio

I am a first year graduate student interested in how the immune system functions in response to invading pathogens and how to apply that knowledge to vaccine development. I’d like to eventually pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Research Project Involvement

Title: “Study of noroviruses using a gnotobiotic pig model”
Our goal is to develop a gnotobiotic pig model for noroviruses and apply this model

to study the innate and adaptive protective immunity to noroviruses, which will facilitate vaccine development; and
to evaluate a panel of lead compounds which could result in the development of the first generation of antiviral drugs against noroviruses to be used in biodefense and in the prevention and control of norovirus outbreaks.
