  • Development of improved vaccines for bacterial pathogens and biowarfare agents
  • Development of improved diagnostic tests for bacteria and biowarfare agents
  • Molecular basis of bacterial capsules and lipopolysaccharides in bacterial virulence
  • Host immune response to bacterial pathogens
