Dr. Gary Vroegindewey, director of global health
initiatives at VMRCVM's Center for Public and Corporate Veterinary Medicine (CPCVM) in College Park, Md., traveled to Beijing, China to
participate in the 17th World Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine.
The CPCVM developed and coordinated veterinary medical presentations at the event, which marked the first time veterinarians were represented in the forum. Presenters at the event included:
Vroegindewey presented the plenary session veterinary keynote talk on "One Health-The Veterinarians Role in International Disasters." USDA APHIS conducted a post-conference workshop on Foreign Animal Disease training in conjunction with the China Agricultural University which was attended by more than 70 faculty and students.
