Neurosciences in the News
The field of neuroscience has been undergoing explosive growth. The Society for Neuroscience has about 40,000 members and membership has been growing rapidly. Much of the work in the neurosciences is reported in scientific journals and thus you probably would never come across it unless you intentionally sought it out. In contrast, there is a great deal of neuroscience-related material that appears right under your nose, in your local or on-line newspaper. You probably never paid much attention before, but now, since you are taking Neurobiology, you have a voracious interest in the neurosciences (right!!!!!!). In case you have not acheived your coffee-induced caffeine buzz before you read the morning news, the site below is wide awake and always searching for journalistic gems. I used to compile the articles myself, but this site does just as good of a job. It's gives you the headlines from the previous week, with a summary, and a link to the full text of the article.
If you would like to check out an alternative site
(no, by alternative I don't mean it's kinky or anything) for
neuroscience news, try the link below. The articles are nice since
they highlight the practical significance of the findings (although
misinterpretations and exaggerations sometimes occur). Unfortunately, it is not upadated very often.
