Policy On The Use Of Old Examinations

Author: Dr. Thomas Caceci

1. The use of old examinations (colloquially called "koofers") in this or any others of my courses is absolutely prohibited for any purpose.

The VMRCVM Library staff has been requested not to include examinations from my courses in the "koofer books" maintained for student use. I will periodically check these books and remove any old exam material I find there, including answer sheets, copies of histology exams given in the pre-1989 "block" curriculum, or exams given by other instructors who have conducted the course.

2. The individual copying and circulation of old exams is also prohibited.

In this context, "copying" means any form of duplication, including (but not limited to) xerography, photography, voice recording, manual transcription, and memorization and/or reconstruction of the exam for purposes of circulation of contents. You are permitted to make ONE copy of any such material for your personal use and study, but at the end of the semester in which you take this course, all such personal-use copies must be destroyed.

"Circulation" means the transmission of a copy to any other person. Possession, use, unauthorized duplication, and/or distribution of exam material from these courses, and/or the removal and copying of exam keys, or the recording of their contents, will be regarded as Honor Code violations.

3. Individuals found violating these policies will be reported to the Honor Board for action.

I will request from the Board to impose the maximum penalty within its authority. Upon conviction by the Board for a violation of this policy I will award the violator a final course grade of "F."
