June 23, 2020: The Vet Med Library is staffed Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Staff is available by appointment during those hours for users to drop off or pick up library materials, receive 3D prints, or make use of the VR dog/cow, etc. Although most consultations will continue via email and Zoom, the library staff can make arrangements if an in-person consultation is needed. Please email VetMedLibfirstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an in-person time to visit the library.
ILL can now be used to request materials from our print collection (e.g., pre-2000 JAVMA) to be scanned and delivered electronically.
Once additional PPE, including splashguards at the front desk, has been installed, the library will be fully opened between 10-3 until classes begin on August 10.
The library will resume its full operating hours when classes begin.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Virginia Gov. Northam announced on March 17 that Virginia would follow federal guidelines to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people; on March 30, Gov. Northam issued a stay-at-home order. As a result, the following events at the veterinary college were canceled. Announcements regarding other events scheduled to be held after July 1 will be released as decisions are made.
