Some clinical-year students began a phased return to clinics on June 22, 2020.
Fall class schedules for years one through three of the DVM program will begin on Monday, August 10, 2020. All courses will be completed by November 25, 2020.
June 23, 2020: The Vet Med Library is staffed Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Staff is available by appointment during those hours for users to drop off or pick up library materials, receive 3D prints, or make use of the VR dog/cow, etc. Although most consultations will continue via email and Zoom, the library staff can make arrangements if an in-person consultation is needed. Please email VetMedLib-g@vt.edu to schedule an in-person time to visit the library.
ILL can now be used to request materials from our print collection (e.g., pre-2000 JAVMA) to be scanned and delivered electronically.
Once additional PPE, including splashguards at the front desk, has been installed, the library will be fully opened between 10-3 until classes begin on August 10.
The library will resume its full operating hours when classes begin.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Virginia Gov. Northam announced on March 17 that Virginia would follow federal guidelines to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people; on March 30, Gov. Northam issued a stay-at-home order. As a result, the following events at the veterinary college were canceled. Announcements regarding other events scheduled to be held after July 1 will be released as decisions are made.
