The Office of the Dean provides college leadership and oversight in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, resource development, political affairs, university relations, strategic planning, legal and government affairs, capital projects, accreditation, and promotion & tenure. The Director of Facilities leads facilities management operations and contributes to the future planning of college facilities. He establishes procedures for maintenance, repair and/or replacement of college facilities, grounds, clinical, teaching and research laboratories, administrative support areas, systems equipment and clinical facilities; and provides management and overview of the college’s security of facilities and compliance with safety procedures. The Special Projects Coordinator leads renovations initiatives and is instrumental in continuously improving the appearance and comfort of work and study environments.
The Safety and Emergency Coordinator coordinates and conducts risk assessments, performs response and preparedness planning, conducts training and exercise programs, and promotes emergency preparedness awareness and outreach. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia State Animal Response Team and leads the Virginia Tech Community Animal Response Team (VT CART).
